DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR INDIVIDUALS:
The registration of the car can be done in the name of the company or an individual. Individuals have to submit the following documents in order to transfer the car ownership.
- Emirates ID and Vehicle Registration Card (Mulkiya)
- Original Passport Copy Along With Residence Visa.
- Final Loan Payment Confirmation In Case Of Car Loan. the seller would need to get a NOC/release letter from the bank If the car loan is not fully paid off.
- If adding mortgage or redeeming electronic mortgage at the bank, if the car is still under the mortgage, the official notice should be provided.
- Pass Report of Vehicle’s technical inspection certificate from Tasjeel
- In case the seller wishes to keep Plate numbers, they have to be delivered to the centre.
- If either plate was lost Police report should be provided.
- Car’s Electronic insurance

- Trade Licence Copy
- Authorization Letter And Endorsement of Signature
- Ownership Certificate Vehicle

- UAE or GCC Citizens: Original and a Copy of their Emirates ID, Drivers License and Passport

- Diplomats: valid diplomatic card and a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

- Vehicle Between 3 And 12 Tonnes: AED 400
- Public Vehicle Between 3 And 12 tonnes: AED 650
- Vehicle Exceeding 12 Tonnes: AED 800
- Light Mechanical Equipment: AED 500
- Public Vehicle Exceeding 12 Tonnes: AED 1,000
- Public Light Mechanical Equipment: AED 700
- Heavy Mechanical Equipment: AED 800
- Public Heavy Mechanical Equipment: AED 1,000
- Trailer And Semi-Trailer: AED 120
- Bus With Passengers Capacity Between 14 And 26: AED 300
- Bus With Passengers Capacity Exceeding 26: AED 600
- Motorcycle: AED 200
- Knowledge And Innovation fees: AED 20
- Selling Agreement: AED 50
VEHICLE PLATE FEE:
- Short Plate: AED 35
- Long Plate: AED 50
- Dubai Branded Plates: AED 200
- Luxury Plates: AED 500
SUBMITTING DOCUMENTS:
The required documents should be submitted at Customer Happiness Centres or Tasjeel Service Centres. If the required documents are accurate and valid, the process will take around 10 minutes and the following will be handed.
- Expiry sticker
- New plates if the number has been changed
- ownership certificate of The Vehicle
TRANSFER CAR OWNERSHIP BETWEEN EMIRATES:
If the owners of the vehicles are from different emirates, the procedure is slightly different.
For example, if a car is being transferred to Dubai from another emirate, the following has to be done.
- Deregistration Of The Car In The City It Is Registered In And Then Marked For Export
- It Is Illegal To Drive An Unregistered Car Without Number Plates So The Car Will Need To Be Transported To The Other Emirate On A Recovery Truck.
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
- Physical presence of both the seller and buyer for the transfer. If any party is unavailable, an authorized legal representative has to appear instead. power of attorney should be issued in the name of the representative and has to provided beforehand.
- All pending traffic fines should be cleared by the seller before a transfer can be made.
- The application must contain registration, possession, export or transfer service.
- After the death of the owner the transfer of vehicle is a slightly longer process. A representative with death certificate and letter issued has to appear in the Dubai court. at the service centre These documents have to be presented for the process to move forward.
